Mara’s Cherry Ketchup Recipe

The addition of cherries to this ketchup recipe sweetens things up. So much etter than high fructose corn syrup, dontcha think?

Ingredients

  • 2 c. pitted cherries
  • 1/2 c. dried cherries
  • 1/2 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp cardamon
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Combine all together in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and continue to simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes until fruit is tender.
  3. Let cool slightly and blend, leaving some chunks..Eat..Yum!
