This is a large 3.25” caliper (trunk diameter) Northern Spy apple tree.

*There is a scar on the trunk of this tree (see photos). We have decreased the price of the tree for this reason.

This heirloom variety is known for being one of the best for baking, especially for apple pies! Just ask your grandmother! The large mostly red fruit is also surprisingly good to eat fresh as it is crisp in texture with a juicy tangy flavor. The tree has a late blossom to help avoid late spring frosts. In proper storage, fruit can keep up to 5 months. The variety comes from East Bloomfield, New York, is cold-hardy and ripens in October. Fantastic for your garden or back yard orchard. Ginger Gold, Red Delicious, or Golden Delicious would all be great pollinators for this variety.
